Canada Day 2010 in Vancouver Photos

2010 marks Canada's 143rd birthday and provides an opportunity for locals and visitors to celebrate our amazing country! This year we decided to stay local and attend the Canada Day celebrations in Vancouver, British Columbia which saw the iconic Olympic Cauldron re-lit, entertainment for all ages, delicious food, shows, a celebration of the Canadian Navy's Centennial (including trading an old loonie for one of 7 millions Navy Centennial coins!) as well as helicopter and tugboat displays in the Burrard inlet! Don't miss the parade at 7:00pm and the fireworks at 10:30pm!

The Olympic Cauldron was a big draw for Canada Day with hundreds of people seeing it up close and from the viewing area.The amazing array of people dressed up for Canada Day was fantastic! Here is the King and Queen of Canada Day!There are still plenty of ongoing Canada Day 2010 celebrations in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland! Don't miss the fireworks shows happening this evening! The Olympic Cauldron and its new water fountain in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Navy Ship was brought in to celebrate Canada's Navy Centennial and was docked off Canada Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Canada Place's five white sails were a beacon for Canada Day celebrators in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Low flying helicopters and dancing tugs were fun entertainment to watch from the seawall and Canada Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

There were opportunities to take photos with Mounties inside Canada Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Stages and other set-ups provided amazing music from local entertainers at the Canada Day celebrations in Vancouver, British Columbia.

There were plenty of entertainers throughout Vancouver, British Columbia for Canada Day 2010!

In exchange for a
loonie, people could get one of 7 million special edition Navy
Centennial dollar coins at the Canada Day celebrations in Vancouver,
British Columbia.
