2010 Olympic Experience: Canada Pavilions

Canada is composed of ten Provinces and three Territories and is the world's second largest country stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northwards to the bitter cold of the Arctic circle. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit the country through the many Pavilions and Houses located throughout Downtown Vancouver to explore the history, learn traditions, experience the art, culture and talent, sample the cuisine and marvel at the beauty of Canada.

Canada's flag is made up of the country's colours, red and white as well as a maple leaf.Visitors to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games can experience more of Canada then just British Columbia, they can also visit the nine Canadian venues found throughout the City:

  • CANADA PAVILION [Location: LiveCity Downtown at the corner of W. Georgia and Cambie Streets in Larwell Park] Hours: February 13-27: 11:00am - 12:00am; February 28: 11:00am - 2:30pm; March 12: 4:00pm - 7:00pm; March 13-14, 18-21: 1:00pm - 9:00pm | Information: The Canadian Pavilion offers a Canadian experience through interactive games and activities as well as Canadian Olympic and Paralympic trivia and history

  • CANADA'S NORTHERN HOUSE [Location: 602 West Hastings Street (at Seymour Street)] Hours: February 12-28: 10:00am - 9:00pm; March 1-31: 10:00am - 5:00pm | Information:Canada is composed of ten provinces and three territories. Canada's Northern House explores the untamed wilds of the North, its people and its arts and culture through events, interactive activities, information, displays and shows.

  • ATLANTIC CANADA HOUSE [Location: Granville Island at the Arts Club Theatre (map)] Hours: February 13-27: 11:00am - 12:00am; February 28: 12:00pm - 5:00pm | Information: Atlantic Canada House shares its food (showcasing dishes from each individual province), talent and spirit with the world highlighting the regions rich and varied culture of the Atlantic provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador.
  • QUEBEC HOUSE (MAISON DU QUEBEC) [Location: Concord Pacific Site between BC Place and Science World (along Pacific Street)] Hours: February 12-28: 12:00pm - 12:00am | Information: Quebec's distinctive character will be presented at Maison du Quebec (Quebec House) Toronto, Ontario is Canada's largest city with the CN Tower as its most identifiable landmark.with local cuisine, tourism information and performances by Inuit and French-Canadians.

  • ONTARIO HOUSE [Location: Concord Pacific Site at the corner of Carrall Street and Pacific Boulevard] Hours: February 12-28: 10:00am - 2:00am | Information: Ontario House promises to be a sensory adventure with a 4D theatre, shows, art and culture, celebrity appearances (such as Wayne Gretzky and Jamie Kennedy) and local Ontario food and beverages.

  • CENTRE PLACE MANITOBA [Location: LiveCity Downtown at the corner of W. Georgia and Cambie Streets in Larwell Park] Hours: February 13-27: 11:00am - 12:00am; February 28: 11:00am - 2:30pm; March 12: 4:00pm - 7:00pm; March 13-14, 18-21: 1:00pm - 9:00pm | Information: Centre Place ManitobaThe Beaver is Canada's National Animal. will feature exhibits promoting tourism, business, immigration and sport and will highlight the province's prosperity, opportunity and potential.

  • SASKATCHEWAN PAVILION [Location: Concord Pacific Site at the corner of Carrall Street and Pacific Boulevard] Hours: February 12-28: 11:00am - 10:00pm | Information: The Saskatchewan Pavilion will have a business section and an entertainment complex in a giant six story sphere decorated with giant mountie pictures featuring local entertainment and foods.

  • ALBERTA HOUSE (PLAZA) [Location: At the corner of Robson and Beatty Street in front of BC Place] Hours: February 12-28: 11:00am - 10:00pm | Information: Alberta House features information on the Province while the Plaza offers entertainment and cuisine.   • BC PAVILLION [Location: In the Vancouver Art Gallery (VAG) at Hornby and Robson Streets beside the Olympic Clock] Hours: VAG (free) February 12-28: 10:00am - 5:00pm; Outdoors: ranges | Information: The BC Pavilion will focus on the host Province's rich cultural heritage, arts and local talent with entertainment, ice skating at the GE Ice Plaza, a zip line experience, and displays highlighting British Columbia's industry and tourism themed 'You Gotta Be Here'.

Enjoy the experience of Canada through the many pavilions and houses located throughout the Downtown of Vancouver, Host City of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games which showcase the talent, culture, foods and beauty of the Country's ten Provinces and three Territories.
