2011 Celebration of Light Fireworks in Vancouver

Come to the shores of English Bay on July 30, 2011, August 3, 2011 and August 6, 2011 to see Vancouver's largest and most spectacular fireworks show! 400,000 people make their way to the seawall, beaches, bridges and water around the Celebration of Light barge to watch pyrotechnic teams from around the world create an artistic display of music and fireworks. In 2011, cheer on Team China, Team Spain and Team Canada as their talented teams work their magic to create spectacular fireworks shows above the City of Vancouver, British Columbia!

Watch Vancouver's most spectacular Fireworks Show - the Celebration of Light in English Bay on July 30, August 3 and August 6, 2011!
  • DATES: July 30, August 3, August 6, 2011
  • TEAM CHINA | July 30, 2011 | 10:00pm | Theme: "China Storm" | Team China will use the seasonal calendar as inspiration to provide a trip through the year of the Rabbit with fireworks used to demonstrate this Chinese tradition. (Winner: 2008)
  • TEAM SPAIN | August 3, 2011 | 10:00pm | Theme: "Odyssey" | This show will represent an exciting journey from Barcelona to Vancouver, and will present powerful, synchronized music to their firework show. Spain will incorporate a wide range of pyrotechnic artifices and extraordinary effects to create this year's entry. (Winner: 2010)
  • TEAM CANADA | August 6, 2011 | 10:00pm | Theme: "Then and Now" | Team Canada will explore music through fireworks as music naturally goes through changes as time passes. The author of a song intends to deliver a feeling, emotion or message through their music. Once another musician or band plays the same song, the emotions often change depending on the intention of the new artist. Even though the words remain the same, the delivery of a good cover song opens doors to a new way of listening to the same. While cover songs are looked at as stolen by some, our display will prove just how valuable new versions of classics can be. (Winner: 2007)
  • LOCATION: English Bay: Viewing is along the Seawall from Stanley Park to Burrard Bridge, Kitsilano Beach, Jericho Beach and Spanish Banks, Vancouver, British Columbia (map) - the main viewing site is at First Beach - Denman Street at Beach Avenue (map)
  • COST: Free (bleacher seats: $35)
  • WEBSITE: Celebration of Light
