The Cherry Blossoms of Vancouver
One of Vancouver's most stunning seasons is Spring when the City's 35 varieties of Cherry trees unfold into brilliant showings of blossoms. Starting around March (depending on the weather, cherry blossoms have opened as early as February across the city) these beautiful trees cover the city in pinks, whites and even yellows with areas of interest including Vanier Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, Stanley Park and the Nitobe Memorial Gardens. Cherry blossoms can be seen across Vancouver with over 30,000 trees to be seen. Take the opportunity to explore Vancouver during the Cherry Blossom season and be sure to bring a camera - it is an event not to be missed!
Vancouver's Cherry Blossoms are one of the city's most anticipated seasonal events with over 30,000 trees in 35 varieties blooming in Spring. The following is a list of the most common species found in the city, identification features and viewing locations:
