Easter Activities in the Lower Mainland

Looking for some fun Easter activities this weekend? Here is a list of egg hunts, arts and crafts, performances, parades, celebrations and other fun activities happening throughout Vancouver and British Columbia's Lower Mainland! Happy Easter everyone - have a safe and fun weekend!

Happy Easter Weekend everyone! We hope you've finished colouring your eggs, decorating your baskets and checked out some of the amazing Spring activities in the region! There are lots of fun activities to do throughout the Lower Mainland for Easter 2010 and here is a list of the happenings going on this long weekend ranging from nature programs to Easter hunts and even a parade!

  • Easter LiliesMaritime Style Easter Treasure Hunt @ the Vancouver Maritime Museum | Ages: All | Dates: April 2nd-5th | Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm | Cost: Adult: $10; Youth: $7.50; Child (5-): FREE | Explore the Maritime Museum to find answers to questions to win a prize!

  • Stanley Park Easter Activities at the Children's Farmyard and Miniature Train | Ages: All | Dates: April 2nd-5th | Time: 11:00am-4:00pm | Cost: $3.25-6.50 | Take a ride on the Easter Miniature Train, meet the new animals at the Farmyard and enjoy an Easter Egg hunt.
  • Case of the Mysterious Egg @ Burnaby Lake Nature Centre | Ages: 6+ | Date: April 5th | Time: 11:00am - 2:00pm | Cost: Free | Visit each of the clue stations along the Burnaby Lake trail near the Nature Centre and examine the evidence to learn the identity of the "mysterious egg."Easter Eggs

  • Easter Eggs-plorer Challenge @ the Vancouver Aquarium | Ages: All | Dates: April 2nd-5th | Time: 9:30am-5:00pm| Cost: Free - $22| Learn about how eggs play an important role in the lives of Aquarium animals.

  • Dundarave Easter Egg Hunt (2400 Block of Marine Drive) | Ages: All | Date: April 3rd | Time: 11:00am - 12:30pm | Cost: Free | Each participant will be given a map to hunt for 12,000 chocolate Easter eggs and a chance to win a plush Easter bunny.

  • Easter Celebration @ Lonsdale Quay | Ages: All | Date: April 4th | Times: 10:00am - 3:30pm | Cost: Free | Easter Egg Hunt (10am), easter crafts, face painting, balloons and treats in Kid's Alley (12:30pm[3:30pm) and a visit from the Easter Bunny (2pm-3pm).

  • Easter Egg-citement @ West Richmond Community Centre | Ages: 0-12 | Date: April 4th | Time: 10:00am-12:00pm | Cost: $8 | An Easter event at the W. Richmond Community Centre which includes; an egg hunt, egg decorating, face painting, crafts and food.
  • Hyack Antique Car Easter Parade @ Queens Park in New Westminster | Ages: All | Date: April 4th | Times: 12:00pm | Cost: Free | Close to 200 vintage vehicles assemble at the waterfront (with chocolate, entertainment and the Easter Bunny) with a parade at noon which winds through the streets to Queens Park where an easter egg hunt will follow.

  • Easter Fair @ Surrey Museum | Ages: All | Date: April 3rd | Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm | Easter RabbitCost: Donation | Join in Easter fun for the family with colouring, making bonnets, storytelling, an egg hunt for the little ones and meet rescue animals.

  • Eco Easter Egg Hunt @ Surrey Nature Centre | Ages: All | Date: April 3rd | Time: 10:00am - 1:00pm | Cost: $2 | Search for Easter eggs in the forest! Meet some forest friends, learn about baby animals, enjoy egg-themed games, crafts, activities and treats.

  • Easter Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt @ Belcarra Village | Ages: All | Date: April 4th | Times: 8:00am-12:00pm | Cost: Free | Breakfast from 8:00am to 10:00am at the Village Hall followed by the Easter Egg Hunt at 11:00am at the Belcarra picnic grounds.

  • Easter Egg Hunt & Pet Parade @ Port Moody Station Museum | Ages: 2+ | Date: April 4th | Times: 10:00am-2:00pm | Cost: $2 | With pet rescue booths, a legendary Easter egg hunt and tons of family crafts and colouring, the day will put a smile on your face.

  • Pitt Meadows Lions' Easter Egg Hunt @ Harris Road Park | Ages: 0-12 | Date: April 4th | Times: 9:00am-11:00am | Cost: Free | The Easter egg hunt will be open for children aged 0-9 from 9:00am to 10:00am; and from 10:00am to 11:00am for children aged 10-12.

  • Whonnock Community Association Easter Egg Hunt | Ages: 0-10 | Date: April 4th | Time: 1:00pm | Cost: Free | Enjoy an easter hunt with three search areas for children 4 and under, Colourful Easter Eggs5-7, and 8-10 to make sure no child leaves empty-handed from this fun event!

Community centres are also offering Easter Egg activities (preregistration is required):

  • Easter EGGstravaganza @ West End Community Centre (Downtown Vancouver) | Ages: 2-6 | Date: April 1st | Times: 5:00pm - 7:00pm | Cost: $5 | Enjoy arts and crafts, games, a bouncy castle and an Easter Egg Hunt at this Downtown locale!*

  • Easter Eggstravaganza @ Renfrew Park Community Centre (Vancouver) | Ages: 2-10 | Date: April 3rd | Times: 12:30pm - 3:00pm | Cost: $4 | There will be face painting, crafts and our famous Egg Hunt. Rain or Shine!

  • Easter Egg Decorating @ Kerrisdale Community Centre (Vancouver) | Ages: 2-10 | Date: April 1st | Times: 3:30pm - 5:00pm | Cost: $6 | Have fun while meeting new friends and decorating colourful eggs in a variety of different ways.

  • Easter Eggstravaganza @ Kerrisdale Community Centre (Vancouver) | Ages: 2-10 | Date: April 3rd | Times: 1:00pm - 3:00pm | Cost: $5 | Enjoy bouncy equipment, games and crafts. There will also be a visit from the Easter Bunny who will be bringing Easter treats.

  • Easter Egg Hunt & Swim @ Ron Andrews Community Recreation Centre (North Vancouver) | Ages: All | Date: April 3rd | Times: Hunt: 1:30pm - 2:00pm; Swim: 2:00pm - 3:30pm | Cost: $1 | Enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt and a refreshing swim afterwards!
