2011 Sakura Days Japan Fair Vancouver Photos

Japanese culture and tradition is ingrained into British Columbia through the long history which intertwines the two nations of Japan and Canada. Every Spring with the blossoming of the Cherry Blossoms, these ties become more pronounced. This weekend we had the opportunity to experience the 2011 Sakura Days Japan Fair at the VanDusen Gardens which offered a wide range of performances from dance to drumming to theatre, food, demonstrations, activities and of course, Cherry Blossoms! Here are some photos of the fair which is on until Sunday, April 3, 2011.

In celebration of the blooming of Vancouver's 37,000 Cherry Trees, on April 2 - 3, 2011, the VanDusen Gardens hosted the Sakura Days Japan Fair. This two day fair offers a wide range of performances, events and activities at two stages, kimono, drumming, singing, dance, origami demonstrations, crafts, food and more set amid the Garden's spectacular Cherry Blossoms in Vancouver, British Columbia!

Women in beautiful kimono offered a wide range of spectacular dances to enjoy on stage at the Sakura Days Japan Fair. The Sakura Days Japan Fair includes many traditional Japanese dance performances. Sakura Day Japan Fair celebrates the arrival of Spring's Cherry Blossoms in Vancouver. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of colourful Kimono at the Sakura Days Japan Fair. The Cherry Stage offered a wide range of Japanese performances to enjoy. The Yayoi Theatre Movement Society putting on a performance at the Floral Hall Stage.
