Kluane National Park, Yukon Territory

Kluane National Park and Reserve of Canada encompasses 21,980 square kilometres on the south-western corner of Yukon Territory and shares its borders with Tatshenshini-Alsek Park in British Columbia and Wranglel St-Elias Park and Wilderness and Glacier Bay Park and Wilderness in Alaska. Kluane spans several unique ecosystems from meadows to forests to river valleys to the largest non-polar ice fields in the world. Visitors to the Park can partake in hiking, wildlife viewing, camping and boating while enjoying this spectacular National Park.

Kluane National Park is one of Yukon Territory's most spectacular protected areas. Yukon Territory offers a wild windswept beauty with a summer season that is compounded in a few, but spectacular short months. This expansive National Park and Reserve shares its borders with three other provincial and state parks is home to the largest non-polar ice fields in the world. Although largely undeveloped, visitors can stop by at one of two of the Park's Visitors Centres (Kluane Visitor Reception Centre and Tachäl Dhäl (Sheep Mountain) Visitor Reception Centre), camp, canoe or motorboat, observe wildlife along the Alaska Highway to the north, and the Haines Highway to the south and hike the National Park's various trails which range in difficulty and length.

Kluane National Park and Reserve of Canada has many unique ecosystems are filled with a wide range of flora and fauna. The Canadian Government is also beginning to allow the Southern Tutchone First Nations to reclaim their traditional hunting and gathering territory. This rich culture heritage adds to the experience of the Park as wildlife and cultural talks, programs and movies are offers by Parks Canada in the Summer months.
