Photos from the 2010 OWL Rehabilitation Centre Open House in Delta, British Columbia

This weekend the OWL Rehabilitation Centre in Delta, British Columbia hosted its annual Open House showing off its buildings and facilities as well as its resident and educational birds. Dozens of families and people showed up to learn about these beautiful creatures, take a tour, adopt a bird for the year, enjoy some food and of course, watch the release of a rehabilitated Bald Eagle back into the wild! It was a great experience to see this organization in action!

Visitors to the OWL Open House in Delta, British Columbia had the opportunity to see building which are usually off limited to visitors!

The volunteers were the true stars of the day, teaching visitors about the birds and the work they do.

Many volunteers were on site to teach visitors about the resident and educational Birds of Prey which live on site.

Visitors even had the opportunity to 'adopt' one (or more) of the birds for a year for a donation. The in depth tour took visitors through many important facilities such as the surgery/check up room where the birds are made better.

It was a party on Sunday with a barbecue, garage sale, shop, visits and of course, the release of a Bald Eagle back into the wild! We will definitely return next year (and hope you guys check it out too!) and also come back to visit our 'adopted' Snowy Owl, Piggy! Thanks OWL!
