Preview of the Beaty Biodiversity Museum, Vancouver

For the International Day of Biological Diversity, Vancouver's newest museum (which is still under construction), the Beaty Biodiversity Museum, opened its doors (and atrium!) to the public for a free preview. Its stunning centrepiece, a Blue Whale skeleton which washed up on the shores of Prince Edward Island in 1987 was awe inspiring, and visitors also has the opportunity to some exhibits which will be fully on display when the Museum opens in Fall 2010. If you missed today's preview you can still attend the four upcoming events being held throughout the summer!

For the International Day of Biodiversity, the Beaty Biodiversity Museum opened its doors for a preview of its collections including its amazing 80 foot Blue Whale skeleton!

If you missed today, you can check out these preview dates:

  • May 29th: 10:00am - 4:00pm;
  • June 19th: 11:00am - 3:00pm;
  • July 17th: 11:00am - 3:00pm;
  • Aug. 21st: 11:00am - 3:00pm

May 22, 2010 was the very first preview of the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at the UBC Campus in Vancouver, British Columbia.The impressive 80 foot blue whale skeleton is the centrepiece of the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at the UBC Campus in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Situated at 2212 Main Mall, the Beaty Biodiversity Centre at the UBC Campus in Vancouver, British Columbia will open fully to the public in September 2010.

The impressive Blue Whale skeleton at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum in Vancouver, British Columbia was beached originally on Prince Edward Island in 1987.

The Blue Whale is housed in a large building and can be viewed level or from below at the UBC Campus in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Visitors also got a sneak peek at a few displays of fossils, taxidermy animals and other interesting items which will be in the completed Beaty Biodiversity Museum in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Visitors also got the opportunity to see some of the aquatic skeletons at the nearby Aquatic Ecosystems Research Lab in Vancouver, British Columbia.
