2011 Summer Live: Vancouver 125th Birthday Celebration

On April 6, 2011, Vancouver celebrated the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the city. To commemorate this milestone birthday, Vancouver will host Summer Live! in Stanley Park, a three day party in the heart of the city's most famous locale with entertainment, activities, storytelling, crafts, performances, concerts, games (croquet, badminton, volleyball, soccer and three-legged races) Coast Salish canoe races in nearby Coal Harbour, sports, food and more! Enjoy a day at Stanley Park to wish the city a happy belated birthday at Summer Live!

  • Celebrate Vancouver's 125th Birthday at Summer Live at Brockton Point in Stanley Park from July 8-10, 2011.DATE: June 8 - 10, 2011
  • TIME: 12:00pm - 11:00pm (schedule)
  • LOCATION: Brockton Point: follow Stanley Park Drive east until the Totem Poles, Vancouver, British Columbia (map) (summer live map) (Stanley Park map) - there will be a free shuttle bus running from Waterfront Station (11:00am - 11:00pm) and secure bicycle storage at Brockton Point.

Come enjoy Vancouver's belated 125th birthday celebration at Summer Live in Stanley Park with festival highlights including:
FIRST NATIONS | Coast Salish Welcome (daily); Canoe Races (July 8: 1:00pm - 3:00pm); Slahal Games (July 8: 7:00pm - 9:00pm) and performances by the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations throughout the Festival.
ARTS & CULTURE | Bollywood Birthday Party (July 9: 3:30pm - 4:15pm; 10th: 4:30pm - 5:15pm); Taiyuan Puppet Demonstrations and Workshops (daily); and marvel at Public Dreams characters as they wander through the crowds.
MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT | Don't miss the spectacular line up of performances which includes Mother Mother (July 8: 9:45pm), Said the Whale (July 9: 10:00am) the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bramwell Tovey (July 10: 5:15pm); the Dal Richards Orchestra (July 10: 12:30pm) and many more!
