Autumn in British Columbia brings the change of season, cold temperatures, fall colours and apples! This weekend, October 16 - 17, 2010, the UBC Botanical Gardens located in Vancouver's University of British Columbia Campus hosts the UBC Apple Festival! This highly anticipated event offers many activities from apple peeling contests to apple tasting (including apple foods from apple pies to ciders to candied apples!) and even the opportunity to buy your favourite apples (or even an apple tree!). Don't miss this fun and fantastic autumn event in Vancouver, BC!

This weekend, October 16 - 17, 2010, the UBC Botanical Gardens at the University of British Columbia is hosting the UBC Apple Festival! Visitors can see over two hundred types of apples, watch cider making and tree grafting demonstrations, peruse the marketplace which offers candied apples, apple pie, apple cider and more, try your skills at the apple peeling contest, visit the Jonny Appleseed Orchard (for kids) and buy or taste 60 varieties of apples grown in British Columbia. The UBC Apple Festival runs until October 17, 2010; admission is $2 for adults (children under 12 are free) and apple tasting is $3 per person. Don't miss this popular autumn event in Vancouver!

There is plenty of Apple Cider and Apple Juice for sale at the UBC Apple Festival.

Festival goers can also purchase bags of the sixty available varieties on sale at the UBC Apple Festival such as the Winter Banana.

Once Festival goers taste the apples they can buy all the different varieties at the Apple Sales area.

Apple trees are also for sale - you can buy your favourite varieties to start your own orchard!

Visitors to the UBC Botanical Garden for the UBC Apple Festival just need to follow the apple variety signs to the event areas.

Don't miss the opportunity to see the apples growing at the Orchards at the UBC Botanical Gardens!
