Established in 1940, Englishman River Falls Provincial Park was created to protect the waterfalls, old-growth Douglas Fir forest found within the park and the surrounding plant communities. The Park was named for an old First Nations legend where members of a local aboriginal group discovered the skeleton of a white man along the river near the waterfall. Encompassing 97 hectares, the Park is an idyllic place to visit throughout the year with expanses of beautiful forest, an impressive canyon between the Park's two waterfalls and interesting flora and fauna.

Camping, hiking (there are three kilometres of trails [Park Map] in the Park which lead to bridges crossing both the lower and upper falls), wildlife viewing and swimming in the deep pool downstream from the lower falls. Sunbathing on the adjoining rocky shore is also a popular past time in the warm summer months. Be sure to visit during the annual salmon spawn in Autumn, one of the region's most spectacular sights which has hundreds of Salmon making their way back to their spawning grounds!
