Amphitrite Lighthouse and Information Sign, Ucluelet

Image from Amphitrite Lighthouse activity in Things to do on Vancouver Island

Amphitrite Lighthouse along the West Coast of Vancouver Island has operated since 1906, protecting ships from its windswept rocky shores.

Vancouver Island's western coastline was once widely known as the Graveyard of the Pacific - a dangerous place for travelling ships which were often dashed against the shoreline during stormy weather. Amphitrite Lighthouse offered a beacon for many ships to protect themselves against the treacherous shoreline.
