Gnawed Tree at Beaver Lake, Stanley Park

Beaver lake, as named, was not occupied for a long time due to their hunting when Vancouver was fist settled. The species has staged a comeback in Stanley Park as species further up the Burrard Inlet who had the misfortune of being caught in the saline ocean environment were forced to come ashore and found Beaver Lake, where one of two beavers in the Park currently resides.
