Starfish on Rocky Beach During Low Tide, Bowen Island

Starfish are plentiful on Bowen Island. Hundreds can line the rocky shores and the docks off Snug Harbour in the summer month looking for foodstuffs and protection from their predators.

For most people visiting or living on the West Coast, one of the most beautiful sights are multicoloured Starfish. Bowen Island with its dozens of rocky beaches is an ideal place to spot these beautiful ocean creatures who are exposed during low tide but are protected by the isolation of the region.
