Boat Building and Marsh at Britannia Heritage Shipyard, Steveston

The Britannia Heritage Shipyard has many different buildings - some of the most interesting those stretching over the marshland and into the Fraser River, home to old dry docked boats being restored by volunteers.

These large buildings resting on stilts above the marsh along the Fraser River are important elements to the Britannia Heritage Shipyard. Within these old buildings volunteers work tirelessly to restore old boats to become prized members of a fleet of heritage boats commemorating Steveston's fishing era.
