The Murakami House was once a residence of the Murakami family from 1929 - 1942. It now operates as a visitor centre for Britannia Heritage Shipyard for visitors to see donated artifacts and the story of this family.

Built in 1885 on the shores of the southern arm of the Fraser River, not far from Steveston's village centre, it is hard to believe this small building housed ten children and their parents (1929-42). Providing artifacts and historical importance, the home and its adjoining garden can be visited in this large park.
