Deadman Island is Vancouver's Naval Reserve Base named the HMCS Discovery. Connected to the park via a small road bridge, this site serves as a functioning base with many building accommodating those who work there. Although not open to the public, curious onlookers can approach the gates and view Deadman Island from the Seawall.
