The Grouse Grind is at times blanketed by fog. This is common as Vancouver is considered a Temperate rain forest classified by higher then usual rates of precipitation. Clouds do not always last on the mountain as winds from the sea will most times clear the weather. This can be very unpredictable. However, with no viewpoints outside of the main hiking trail, this cooling fog is a welcome relief for hikers going up the trail, especially on hot days. The ethereal appearance of the path is also an amazing viewpoint to see on the Grouse Grind.
