Hollow Tree at Sunset, Stanley Park

Image from Hollow Tree activity in Things to do in Stanley Park

Stanley Park's Hollow Tree was damaged in the severe winds of the 2006 storms requiring support braces to keep the tree upright.

In 2008 the city of Vancouver was buffeted by hurricane force winds causing massive damage to the region. Most affected was Stanley Park where thousands of trees were toppled or irreparably damaged. Among these was the famous Hollow Tree in which visitors for the last one hundred years have had their photo taken, accentuating the enormity of the tree.
