Honey Bee in Purple Rhododendron Flower, Stanley Park

Image from Ted and Mary Greig Rhododendron Garden activity in Things to do in Stanley Park

This extraordinarily large honey bee almost doesn't make it to the flower's nectar which it is collecting to make honey.

This large Honey Bee is a common visitor to these bountiful plants. Collecting nectar to make honey for the winter and to feed the new larvae requires constant movement in and out of the hive. The Ted and Mary Greig Rhododendron Garden in Stanley Park provides a large portion of this nectar for surrounding insect populations.
