The Old Hastings Mill Store is an oddity along the shores of Vancouver's Point Grey region. Home to some of the wealthiest homes bordering the Pacific Ocean, this century and a quarter year old building has the distinction of being one of the oldest in Vancouver, surviving the great fire of 1886. The Old Hastings Mill Store was moved from the downtown when under threat of development to its current location in Pioneer Park to become a museum housing relics of the city's past, commemorating the settlement of the West Coast and the people who made it possible.
