The Planetarium Projector in the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre helps teach visitors about everything from the solar system to the native legends of the Vancouver region.

Nicknamed Harold the Star Projector (a Zeiss Jena star projector), this two ton Projector is the heart and soul of the Planetarium in the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. Purchased for the new planetarium built in 1968, Harold is responsible for all the special effects and the shows that are played in the theatre. This amazing machine provides some of the most amazing effects including the popular weekend laser shows.
