Fishermen Nets Art Piece at the Richmond Oval, Richmond

Image from Richmond Olympic Oval activity in Things to do in Richmond

The red nets and walkways which winds over top the pond on the northern edge of the Richmond Oval pays homage to the city's rich historic fishing ties.

The northern edge of Richmond Oval involves the pond which retains all run off from the roof and in turn is used to irrigate the surrounding land and used as grey water for plumbing for the bathrooms. Some of the most striking art pieces are the large red nets suspended over the red walkways and pond which honor Richmond's fishing industry.
