The Sam Kee Building in Vancouver's Chinatown district is an obscure sight. Built among some of the oldest construction in the city, the Sam Kee Building was forced to take on a smaller shape after the government appropriated the front to widen Pender Street, rather then to give up valuable space, Sam Kee commissioned the building that now stands there, as evident by the official signs indicating this building as the Narrowest Commercial Building in the World by the Guinness Book of Records and Ripley's Believe it or Not.
