View Through Tree Hollow on Stawamus Chief, Squamish

Image from Stawamus Chief Park activity in Things to do in Squamish

Throughout the many hikes on Stawamus Chief, there are trees which have been damaged by storms or died leaving rot and holes looking from one side to the other.

The older trees vying for space atop Stawamus Chief are competing for limited space and minerals leaving trees which are weakened by storms or disease to die. Many of these trees are hollowed out by animals as homes such as this tree overlooking the First Peak Trail at Stawamus Chief Provincial Park.
