The westward view from the Tantalus Lookout shows the glacier and snow covered mountains that make up this mountain range along the Cascades.

The Tantalus Mountain Range is aptly named for a character in Greek Mythology who was tempted without satisfaction - as with these mountains, appearing deceptively close but out of reach. The beauty of this range makes the Tantalus Viewpoint one of the Highway's most noted stops.
