This tall and precarious gate is the China Gate, built by Canadians to honour the sister city agreement undertaken with Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. This gate represents the ties of friendship as well as the continued value of the multicultural community found within Vancouver and the unique identity of Vancouver's Chinatown district.
