One of Jericho Beach Park's most popular elements is its large pond which is home to dozens of birds and other animals.

The Park set amongst the young forest, meadows and marshland found naturally in the area, is a beautiful reflective space avaliable to residents and visitors to the city. Offering a quieter environment outside of the main beach region, Jericho Beach Park is criss-crossed with multi-use trails supporting hiking and biking, leading from the beach and roadways. The pond is full of ducks waddling and snacking on algae, red-winged blackbirds calling to their significant others and tiny fish darting through the grasses. Rabbits live throughout the park and are curious observers of people moving through the Park, some of many animals whom call Jericho Beach Park home. The splendour of the surroundings and proximity to the beach and amenities has popularized the Park which sees dozens of people enjoying its serene and relaxing forested area protected from the noises of the beach and nearby roadways.

Jericho Beach Park, encompassing the Beach to the North and the Park to the South, the area contains a maze of paths and natural features including forests, meadows, marshlands, beaches and ponds.

Located between the beach and the network of roads, the Park offers a place for naturalists, exercise enthusiasts, dog walkers, families, groups and individuals to enjoy as well as a place for migrating animals and those who have found a home in the Park's boundaries. Connected to Jericho Beach by a series of trails and bridges, the Park is filled with people enjoying the relaxed surroundings.

The park lands were once the site of a native village - when settlers came to the region it became a logging camp named Jerry's Cove which morphed into its current designation: Jericho. Jericho Beach Park was also Vancouver's first Golf course - however, during the 1930s the area was appropriated by the Department of Defense and turned into a seaplane base. The land was turned over to the city of Vancouver in the 1970s and all the buildings along the beach demolished and the area converted to the Beach and Park.

There are many amenities found within Jericho Beach Park. There are many pathways throughout the Park, along the grassy meadows, forests and around the large pond. The Park also encompasses seating, picnic tables as well as a nearby Youth Hostel.

Jericho Beach Park offers west coast forests for hikes and picnics as well as grassy meadows overlooking the nearby Beach. The beautiful natural surroundings, pathways and amenities has made this a popular place for visitors, residents and people looking to escape the busy shoreline and into the quiet natural surroundings of the Park.
