Visit Merritt, British Columbia, the Country Music Capital of Canada! Wander around Downtown Merritt and admire over sixty larger than life murals of Country Music legends, or spot your favourite musician along the Walk of Stars (you can pick up a map at the tourist information centre). Don't miss the annual Merritt Mountain Music Festival every July which promises some of the hottest Country Music acts! The frontier town atmosphere and country music feel makes Merritt a must-visit for everyone from young to old!

Located three hours away from Vancouver, the town of Merritt, British Columbia is a beautiful place, surrounded by ranch lands and rivers which host rodeos and other events which showcase the regions talent. The quiet ranching lifestyle however is overshadowed by Merritt's claim to fame as the Country Music Capital on Canada! Every July visitors from across Canada make the pilgrimage to the Merritt Mountain Music Festival which draws some of the biggest names in Country Music history and all year round visitors can wander through the Downtown to see its attractions which include over sixty murals and the Merritt Walk of Fame with hand prints of some of Country Music's hottest stars.

Painted by youths, the Merritt Murals are a government funded program which have become one of the town's many spectacular Country Music attractions. Starstruck visitors can walk the streets and see one of sixty giant murals depicting Country Music legends such as Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, Elvis Presley, Tim McGraw, Wilf Carter and many more! Be sure to get your picture taken with your larger than life favourite country music stars - many which have graced the stage in the centre of town annual Merritt Mountain Music Festival.

Also take the opportunity to stroll the historic streets of Downtown Merritt which are graced with hand prints (and a set of footprints!) from famous country music acts which have been collected since 1993 such as the Dixie Chicks, Billy Ray Cyrus, Keith Urban, Trisha Yearwood, Randy Travis, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash and much more! Pick up a map at the tourist information centre and also be sure to visit the Hall of Honour.
