The Squamish Adventure Centre looks onto Stawamus Chief, one of the many outdoor areas the Centre promotes.
One of Squamish's most noticeable buildings is the Squamish Adventure Centre located along the Sea to Sky Highway just outside of the main city centre. This wood and glass circular building overlooks nearby Stawamus Chief and is surrounded by forests, a water feature and a large Inukshuk. The Squamish Adventure Centre is undoubtedly the area's most beautiful building.
Serving as a rest stop, shop, tourism information booth, tour booking, and theatre (advertising local amenities and activities) the Adventure Centre is always a busy place providing visitors with tips, activity suggestions and a place to enjoy the beautiful Squamish scenery. The Centre was built as a group initiative by local business owners to provide a one stop venue to help visitors explore the area and beyond while showcasing local products that were used in its construction.
Outside the BC Adventure Centre, there is a two story tall Canadian Logger for visitors to admire. The statue was built in honour of Squamish Days, an annual event which is one of the biggest attractions in British Columbia. It includes music, activities, a parade, wacky bed races and world class Loggers Sports Shows with events such as Tree Climbing, Tree Topping, Birling, Chokerman's Race, Axe Throwing, Underhand Chop, Butcher Block Chop, Obstacle Pole Chop, Springboard Chop, Hand Bucking, Speed Bucking, Standing Block Chop and Tree Falling. Since 1957, Squamish Days has been a popular summertime event bringing participants and people from across the world to the city.
Offering a variety of goods and services to its visitors, the Squamish Adventure Centre is a perfect place to go when travelling the area to find interesting activities, guided tours and even rentals. Its distinctive exterior has made it one of the most visited stops in the Squamish region and one of the best places to find information.
