The long boardwalk which lines Steveston Landing offers views of the harbour as well as several restaurants and shops to explore.
Stretching from the Gulf of Georgia Cannery along the mooring docks to the Britannia Heritage Shipyard, Steveston Landing offers something for everyone whether its views, restaurants or an enjoyable stroll.
Decades ago, this refurbished pier was a hub of activity with fishermen unloading their daily catch onto the wooden planks to be preserved in the nearby cannery or to be shipped to local shops and markets in the region. With the closure of the Cannery in 1979, the pier became a prime location for restaurants - most specializing in local seafood - and with the addition of the two National Heritage Sites nearby and the village's natural charm, Steveston Landing has become an ideal locale for visitors enjoying the region.
Visitors to Steveston Village can walk the boardwalk that makes up the landing enjoying snacks or full meals at the various restaurants along the pier. Summer sees the area inundated with tourists and children on holiday exploring this former fishing village, the unique shops selling everything from jewelry to pirate flags are also fun to explore.
The boardwalk is the perfect location to watch the hundreds of fishing boats move in and out of Steveston Harbour while also enjoying the nearby Fishing Wharf to purchase the catch of the day or just to see the various seafood for sale.
Steveston Landing is a great place to come and enjoy a good meal or explore the boardwalk and shops that make up this interesting village destination.
