Explore a year round tropical paradise at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens which encompasses an indoor jungle filled with lush foliage and flowers, waterfalls, dozens of bird species (including parrots, finches, quails, songbirds and flamingos), reptiles (including frogs and turtles), fish and of course, lots and lots of beautifully adorned butterflies - from caterpillars to chrysalises to a variety of amazing species!

Experience an indoor tropical rainforest on the coast of Canada's temperate rainforest at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens! A perfect attraction for people of all ages (especially the winter weary!), the gardens offer over 12,000-square-foot of jungle filled with lush foliage and flowers, waterfalls, dozens of bird species, reptiles, fish and of course, lots and lots of beautiful butterflies.

A long time Victoria area attraction, the Victoria Butterfly Gardens visitors the opportunity to explore its indoor tropical wonderland (a climate controlled environment which sits at a hot 25 Celsius at 80% humidity), where Caribbean flamingos walk past waterfalls through the streams and ponds among the beautifully coloured koi, goldfish, jack dempseys, albino oscars, tetras, barbs, jaguar cichlids, plecos, Australian whistling tree ducks and red-eared slider turtles. Wander through a lush jungle of plants native to tropical rain forest environments including vanilla beans vines, papaya trees, pineapple, coffee, ginger as well as various trees, plants and flowers. Dozens of birds and reptiles also make their home in the dense foliage including a variety of parrots and finches, several turtle species, frogs and more.

The main attraction of the Victoria Butterfly Gardens are the butterflies themselves! At any time, dozens can be spotted throughout the gardens, perching on feeding trays and flowers or flitting high over top the gardens and pathways. Eggs are laid on leaves throughout the tropical garden and often displays of caterpillars can be viewed. At the entrance to the garden, over one hundred chrysalises are hung in the window giving visitors the opportunity to see varying species of butterfly emerge before they are released into the jungle. Note it is important to pay attention to all notices regarding the safety of the butterflies (and creatures) within the garden.

Walk among the butterflies, birds and reptiles at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens and enjoy a tropical paradise unlike any other in the region!
